Intro:

My first problem is that I can't find the chipset for my mobo anywhere. I have an ECS MCP73t-m3 and it is not even listed on the official EVS site (jerks). After some extensive googling I stumbled upon this thread which claims that the MCP73T-m3 is really just a version of GF7100PVT-m3, and the GF7 motherboard is listed on the ECS website and has the chipset information right here.

I'm operating under the assumption that my audio chipset is IDT 92HD206, but I'm not 100% certain. Any way I can verify?

Hello everyone. I have an almost fully-functioning vanilla 10.6.6 SL hackintosh working, the only thing missing is audio and I can't quite figure out how to get it to work, heh heh.

I've been reading on the internet and I've found two alternate ways of getting IDT audio chipsets to work. One is by binary patching AppleHDA and using an enabler. The second method is by replacing AppleHDA with a VoodooHDA kext. I cannot figure out how to do the first method because all the enablers I've found are for ALC audio chipsets, not IDT.

So I went ahead and tried VoodooHDA, and needless to say the results haven't been great (I did backup and remove the AppleHDA to avoid conflicts). I've tried all the versions from ##### and the results are always the same. When I boot up I can hear a short crackle sound that seems to imply that audio is activated. When I go to the audio preferences, I see this:

It only seems to detect HDMI and the black audio entrance. I'm trying to activate the standard green 3.5mm speaker jack. I do not want to (and cannot) use HDMI.

So, now I'm rather stuck. VoodooHDA doesn't seem to work and all the guides on IDT for AppleHDA I've found are outdated and use an outdated enabler.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
