AustinRoepke
Would it be possible to use a Dell/other Laptop IR board? On ebay, IR receivers for apple laptops are 10x more than their pc counterparts. Dilemma Prison
I've wired up a number of apple IR boards from various imacs and laptops, they are simple internal usb devices. Whatever that guy did looks far easier than what I went through, the IR board on an older macbook uses very small connectors. I did the same w/ an isight and apple branded bluetooth module for use on my desktop hackintosh. Apple uses USB for everything just like everyone else :/. Given how expensive apple's repair parts are these days you would be better off finding some 3rd party alternative unless you have a friend with a pile of dead macs laying around.
