merileyjr
Hello, I am attemtping to install snow leopard on my HP Mini 110-1025DX. Im using Netbook Installer 3.8 (having issues with later versions) Ive gotten all but the Wifi to work. The most progress i have made was getting the airport icon to appear, but airport would not turn on. Any suggestions or Kext files that i should use? Id like to avoid having to change parts, if possible. Id rather go to a 5.8.x build if wifi works on Leopard if the native hardware works better there. Thank you Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/244716-hp-110-1025dx-and-snow-leopard/ Share on other sites

merileyjr
IS there any way to tell what card is in my net book with out taking it apart? I do not have windows installed so i canot gather the VEN and DEV ID's. Is there a spot inside of OSX that will show me this? or an application that i can install? A few sites on Google report that the HP 110-1025DX has a Broadcom BCM43XX series card (which should work with OS X). Here is a .zip file with kexts for HP Mini series machines, specifically. This SHOULD help you get things working... http://code.google.com/p/hpminimacosx/down...mp;can=2&q= I believe the kext you want to re-install (backup then delete from /System/Library/Extensions) is IO80211Family.kext. Reinstall IO80211Family.kext from this zip file using Kext Utility, and reboot. If wireless doesn't work then, you may have to edit from Info.plist to include your wireless card. You will need to know the exact model of your card when you do that, however, so a little more research on your end may be warranted. Good luck! merileyjr
I was able to install the io80211family.kext using the NetBookInstaller extention update (basically it has a folder "extra" and you place the extention in a folder and run an updater application.) I am in the same spot, the computer see it as a device but i cannot turn air port on. Also my wireless light is pink and wont turn blue.
