SL 10.6.6 - very black boot with nVidia 8600 GT 512 mb

Hi there, I am desperately trying to get a nVidia 8600 GT 512 MB to show something in hardware accelerated mode.

 

Its working in safemode (boot with -x), my network works too.

 

But 10.6.3 upgraded to 10.6.6 ... i just cant figure out what sort of setting I am missing.

 

I've tried tonyx86's nVidia enabler, I've added Kexts myself. I've tried to use EFI 1.1 to add device.

 

I'm pretty stuck now. I could really use some advice.

 

Btw. I am using the DELL Inspiron 530 ISO, as its a DELL Vostro 200 machine I am trying to boot. It has a Intel Core2Duo E8400 if that has anything to say?

 

I've tried to make a restore of the first Vostro 200 I've installed with same configuration. Except its a 8800 GTS and it runs great. The CPU there is a E6850 I think. But thats the only difference.

 

So... do I need to patch for the "better CPU" (same 3.0 Ghz both) or is the more lame graphiccard that gives me the trouble?

 

I am NOT very experienced with KEXTS etc. so I could really use some "newbie" explanation.
