10.6.6 update and maxmem doesn't work

I'm wondering does anyone have same issue after updating the OS to 10.6.6 for the maxmem? i have maxmem=3500 but 10.6.6 doesn't boot with it, it takes the full memory instead. I'm using the iAtkos S3v2 with AsereBLN 1.1.9

I wanted to set lower mem because 4GB sometimes crash during bootup. Is there workaround?
