thezemo
I have 10.6.6 installed on a dc7600 SFF, i have a pentium D 3.4GHz cpu that has 64bit capabilities and 4GB ram. I also use the onboard GMA950 video device. I have everything working pretty good in 32bit mode. I have a patched DSDT file, using mostly vanilla kexts. I am everything on the video side working legit. Except for when I boot using arch=x64 or any other 64 bit kernel string. I get IOAPIC family kernel panics. I tried using the efi strings (the laptop one) but that doesn't work, I used it in conjunction with the dsdt but get a weird dual monitor mirrored effect problem. I've read that the gma950 kexts are 64bit as of 10.6.2. But I just cant get it to work. What am I doing wrong or where can I go to get the answers? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Can you post your kp screen and your DSDT? About your mirrored effect problem i think its normal 'cause i never seen hackintoshies on mirrored screen mode (imacs ok, but hack, any...) but someone told me that its possible . So check it out yourself... and dont forget to post your pics and files! thezemo
I have attached my kernel panic file and my dsdt file. I also have a link to where someone has the same problem, it's an older topic, but I get the same issue. http://osx86.co/archive/index.php/t-4924.html the link is a different site too. but it's for reference as that's where I copied the kp info from. I get the same KP. dsdtfile.rtf KP.rtf Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/244257-getting-kernel-panics-when-trying-to-boot-with-archx64/#findComment-1626493 Share on other sites
Dellmantt
What kernel are you using? vanilla? Have you tried arch=i386 -force64 boot flag. thezemo
no, Im using legacy_kernel 10.6.6. My pentium D 3.4GHz cpu can't run vanilla. I'll try that arch=i386 -force64 and see what happens. nope. those boot flags did not work. Well it booted, but the -force64 didnt do anyting. Still in 32bit kernel. I don't know if the laptop GMA 950 will work in forse64 but the desktop variant will ( Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x2772) As far as I know arch=x64 will not work with that kernel..
