mm in NC
Hey all, I was not allowed to post this in the ASUS netbook forum because I am a new user. Maybe a mod can move it at some point? Anyways I have a fresh install of 10.6.5 that was installed using my_hack installer 1.1. From there using pfix and combo updates I was able to update all the way up. It is running on a ASUS 1001HAB. 1 GB ram. I have used BMKx's Control_My_EEE, DSTD, and Ktext's for the 1001HA to get the FN keys to work (with the exception of the brightness). Now its taken me 2 days of working on this computer to get her music, settings and bookmarks back on and something weird is happening. First right at boot up the cooling fan is starting and running at about 4000 rpm. Secondly (and most troubling) is that EVERY OTHER boot there is a kernel panic that causes a reboot and then the computer boots fine. Its most peculiar. The only thing I have done different on this install that I have not done previously was install VoodooHDA 2.7.2. On my previous installs I had one version earlier. I installed the newest update because I was having MIC issues in iChat. I am tempted to revert to the older version of Voodoohda but I really like the options that I can now control with the new version. Its a sacrifice I can make but was hoping someone had a suggestion first. Thanks in advance, ~Mike Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/243951-kernel-panic-every-other-boot/ Share on other sites
