jeffdodge
I have a HUGE problem now that I have upgraded to 10.6.6 from 10.6.4. I had to copy IOUSBFamily.kext from 10.6.4 install to reuse because of the change in the update, so once I got it fixed, then rebooted, all seemed well because my keyboard and mouse worked, but then once I tried to plug in any usb storage device (I tried three USB sticks, a hard drive and a card reader) none of them show up, even in disk utility. Can anyone give any advice on this? Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/242740-most-issues-have-now-been-worked-outexcept-one/ Share on other sites

jeffdodge
Ok, now that should be fixed when I reboot, but I have another problem that I just noticed... My ram is showing up in about this mac as 2GB 59MHz00 RAM, while in system profile it shows up as 4GB DDR3 1333. I know this problem is purely cosmetic, is there anyway to fix it without using OSX86Tools, since I tried that and it didn't work. Dellmantt
Lucky you did not break your system using OSX86Tools, especially on Snow Leopard. try "lizard" or better still search the forum about how to edit "About this Mac" and "smbios.plist". And updating to the latest Chameleon 2 rc5 will probably help with CPU & memory detection.
