james h
Hi All, I’m having a bit of trouble trying to get os x installed on a partition I created in windows 7. Firstly I’ll give you the low down i have a hp g61 laptop which already has win 7 on so i want to make a dual boot system. I create a new partition in win7 disk management and set the partition to active. Then i restart and boot into ##### change to snow lep disc and start the installation process. I then use the disk utility to format the partition to mac extended (journaled) and verify it. The problem is when i then go to install on that partition it won’t let me it has an x across it and tell me i need to repartition it or something along those lines. I don’t understand what’s going on ive tried creating the partition in win 7 over and over again meaning i have to repair windows boot loader every time. Its driving me nuts. I know i could try and install OS X first instead of win 7 but I want to keep my win 7 installation as it is already set up how i want it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/241960-cant-install-osx-on-partition-created-in-windows-7/ Share on other sites
grafixidea
Use GParted ( http://gparted.sourceforge.net ) to re-partition it. Google it.
