Still Waiting for root device sometimes, NOT always.

I've recently received an HP G62-340US laptop computer. I've trying to install iDeneb 10.5.8 on it, and when I boot from the DVD for the first time, it works without me putting in any commands. However, If I was to decide to shut down and come back with my drive still formatted as FAT32, I'll always get the dreaded "still waiting for root device" error. This ALWAYS happens, and I haven't changed anything at all. I do not understand why it will work the first time, but refuse to work again. Also, if I actually finish, it'll just return with still waiting for root device.

 

Things I've tried (all used with -v):

 

rd=disk0s3 (this is the correct partition) = still waiting for root device

rd=disk0 = kernel panic (nfs_init_boot error with 6)

-x -s -f = still waiting for root device

rd=disk0 -x -s -f = still waiting for root device

 

Specs:

HP G62-340US

AMD Dual Core 2.2ghz Processor (Compatible with: MMX (+), 3DNow! (+), SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4A)

ATI 4250 Graphics Card

Windows 7 Home Premium (Preinstalled OS on first partition)

3GB DDR3 Memory

320 HD connected through SATA (can't change any settings in BIOS relating to hard drive - no options for it)

Thats's your problem, Your computer will boot from the dvd because it can understand that however; it will not boot from you hard drive because it cannot understand it. You formatted it as FAT32 OSX does not recognize this as a bootable drive. Try formatting to HFS+. Also do you even have a bootloader installed? There are several steps you must do to prepare your system to handle OSX I suggest you find a guide.

I would like to add that I have the same computer you do, I dont have OSX on it or plan to install its alot more work hackintoshing an AMD build, also I would like to put out there as of now there is no available video driver for you comp under OSX so you'll have problems with quartz extreme etc. I would suggest holding off until they find a solution.
