Spunky17
Okay, I am able to install from a USB harddrive tha I restored my DVD to and made it bootable with Chameleon. I then applied the 10.6.5 combo patch to it so it would see my hardware. I can install just fine, sees the graphics and all but when I try to boot the installed OS it gets to "Starting Darwin x86_64" and just resets the computer. Does anyone have any ideas? Running a Dell Precision 4500 with a core i7 940XM and Nvidia Graphics. Thanks to anyone with any ideas. Nomad_Grabitel
Try to boot with key busratio=XX. XX is your busratio, you can find it in BIOS. Spunky17
Okay, I believe I figured it out after pulling out all my hair. It appears that if you install the 10.6.5 update to a bootable USB device it only patches the boot portion of the disk. What gets installed to the compter is still plain vanilla 10.6.0. I had to pull the hard drive and put it into my other Hackintosh and apply the 10.6.5 update all over again to the installed partition. Once I did that the system booted without issue, all 8 cores and 8G of memory working right out of the box. Even the bluetooth and built in webcam work!
