je1230
Hi, I'm Justin, I'm new to the Hackintosh scene. I have a few questions before I begin to create my hackintosh. 1. I have a 250 GB External Hard Drive ( http://amzn.to/bWZT7e ) (if link is against forum rules, please tell me, i will take it down, it leads to some info about the drive on amazon), will I be able to connect it via usb to my computer and run the hackintosh off that, while being able to save any work I do? If I do this, will I be able to still boot Windows on my internal drive, still being able to do what i normally do? 2. If the answer to the 1st question is a no, will I be able to do it the other way around? Windows booting from External Drive and Hackintosh on the Internal Drive? 3. If the answer to the 1st or 2nd questions is not possible, then I have Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate Edition, will I be able to Dual-boot with the Hackintosh? I went to a few sites and they said I need to be running Windows XP, but I wasn't sure if this was possible. If the questions did not make sense, please tell me, and if you need any of my computer specs, just tell me what I need to post and I will. Thanks for reading my post, I hope help is available, and again, I am new, so simpler answers are appreciated. Giorgio_multi
1) You can install Mac OSX on external USB drive and boot the system by the USB HD (if your BIOS is able) and you can install windows on internal HD. Chameleon bootloader (installed on USB HD) will boot both the Operating Systems. Giorgio_multi
You can install both a retail installation os Snow or a patched version (Snow Hazard i.e.). Perhaps some difficult with graphic card (but is compatible with QE/CI). Good also Leopard (i.e Iatkos V7) Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236981-some-questions/#findComment-1582139 Share on other sites

Giorgio_multi
do you have a link to the downloads? and maybe a tutorial? Look at genius bar. There is not a specific tutorial for your laptop, but for similar hardware. You must try, try and try. Is not allowed to post link to torrents.
