CraigRiches
Hi, Does anybody know why some graphics cards are read incorrectly in Mac OSX 10.6.2? Is it a case of this version being picky at which drivers and whatnots are read properly? My graphics card, (NVidia GeForce FX 5500, AGP 256MB, Dev ID: 10de:0326), seems to be reading as an ATI Radeon HD 4890, which is really weird, because the setup for 10.6.2 DOES read my card correctly as an NVidia GeForce FX5500, but then the OS itself, after installation, doesn't read the card correctly. I have tried installing only the NVidia kexts and drivers in the Setup but this results in the screen just being black and not working after installation. Any ideas how to combat this problem and how to get the card to read correctly and perhaps enable the graphics features, Quartz GL I think they're called. Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks, Craig Riches Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/235668-graphics-card-reading-incorrectly/ Share on other sites
