Ok, so i got everything other than video working.

upon initial install of the JAS 10.4.5/10.4.6 dvd, i had no wireless, 1024x7xx resolution, and mouse artifacts. I grabbed the 10.4.5 wireless thingy using pacifict, got wireless working. Deleted all .kext files with ati in it, got rid of mouse artifacts. Did the classic "graphics mode" mod, and got 1400x1050 graphics.

However

I now lose the ability to use CI or QE. I am not even really sure which ati card I have. I know it's the mobility FireGL T2 and device id 4e54, but that is about it. Which tutorial/crack/mod do i use to get full support? again, the machine is the IBM t41p. Thankyou.

According to the internet, the FireGL T2 uses the same chipset as the ATI 9600. Here is what one person with 9600 in a laptop did to get full support:

Download Callisto 003 (fixed) and ffllow the instructions in the included files on http://omni.starchaser.org/callisto/ Read FAQ question 11 for QE/CI
hey, i have the same laptop as you, same video card... howd did you get your laptop to go to 1400x1050.. also are you still using the intel wireless 2100 b?.. i switched mine out. howd you get your wireless to work?

am new to osx86

To get wireless to work, copy over the IO80211.kext file from the 10.4.5 combo update. If you have a different install other than 10.4.5, you can get it from the intel update off the apple page, and then use pacifict to pull it out of the install package.

For video, search graphics mode and you'll see. 1400x1050 works fine. There is a quite a bit of mouse tearing though, and random artifacts. Search mouse tearing for the fix. I'm going ot try the callisto b003 patch. I used the 008 and 005 and it just left me unbootable. fun. here's hoping for 003.

Ok, so here is the update.

I got callisto 003 running, and w/ the QE and CI tweak going. I now have a selection of what resolution i would like to use, as well as refresh rate. I still however, have mouse tearing. So with all that work, it seems that my efforts really just gave me the ability to change resolutions. I will be connecting it to my dell widescreen adventually, and will echo back if i am getting widescreen support, which i am supposing that i will.

For the person who has an identicle laptop as me, here is what you need to do to get a fully working system...

- Bluetooth works, just use FN+f5 to turn it on and off.

- Wireless works, just copy over the io80211.kext from the combo update from 10.4.5 using pacifist.

- You can have full selection of what resolution you are running using callisto b003 drivers.

- You can re-enable QE and CI using step 11 from the FAQ in the Callisto)b003fixed folder

- You can enable battery info using http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=14912

- (edit) forgot to add, to reduce mouse tearing when QE and CI are enabled, use this link http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...epose&st=40 but use page 3's solution, as it's free, and seem to work just as well. If you don't feel like you need QE or CI all the time, just turn it on and off via the above steps when needed, as there is ZERO mouse tearing when it is not enabled.

That should be about it. If you have any questions particular to our laptop, feel free to pm me or email me at
