Asus CG5270-BP003 iPC install 10.5.6

Hello there!

 

I've been looking around on this site for a while trying to install 10.5.6 on my Cg5270.

 

Thanks to this site i was successful and now have a 99% working hackintosh triple booting with ubuntu linux 10.10 beta 64-bit and windows 7 64 bit, So I'd like to share my knowledge of getting mac os x working for those people who were having issues.

 

1. Use iPC 10.5.6

 

2. Move the hardrive sata cable to sata slot 1 (the first 1 on top) and the dvd drive to sata 2.

 

3. Turn off APCI/APIC in the bios, just turn it to disabled. this will allow you to start the disk.

 

4. Run disk utility to make a journaled partition on your hard drive. (it's kinda self explanitory)

 

5. Choose the follow drivers: (by the way the gt220 it comes with will not work completely with this set up, you will need a new video card or experiment with things i haven't tried driver wise)

 

kernel: 9.4.0 xnu universal kernel

Video: nvdarwin 256 (i found a decent 256mb 8600GT and it allows me to use QE/CI)

Audio: voodoohda.kext (it is not on the disk, you will have to wait until after install)

Ethernet: realtek r1000

Chipset: ICH10

Fixes: ACPI fix (and ps/2 keyboard, but thats dependent on what you have)

apps: efi editor and macosx86 tools utility

 

And thats about it. don't do the seatbelt.kext for 10.5.5 fix during install it causes kernel panic. save that for when you do voodoohda.kext. I recommend doing it through osx86 tools. if you have any questions send me a message or aim: realfolkbluesxv

Thank you for this! This is extremely helpful. Unfortunately, my CG5270 hangs at startup and I'm wondering if you can share your BIOS setting for this as well.

You need to switch the bios to AHCI from ACPI I believe. That should resolve most issues. If you want snap a few photos of your bios settings and i'll look at them.
