I tried to install snow leopard 10.6.2 on my thinkpad t43 laptop.

I replaced the kernel with that from kexts.com and the installation always hangs at "Installing Mac OS X on the disk", or hangs at next screen "perform volume consistency check"... nothing happens after that, even I wait for 3 hours...

I tried for 20+ times and finally I got it successful eventually.

Later I got a bigger disk and want to reinstall it... But unfortunately, the same problem happens over and over again ...

I cannot get hep from Google, looks like few people are facing this issue... is there anybody who can help me...

OK,

Really weird, but I had the same problem as you, I left the computer for what felt like years, and NOTHING had changed on the screen... so I was about to hold down the power button and restart the whole process, but before doing that I hit eject on the DVD player and unplugged my USB mouse... then the OS X install screen flicked over to saying 'Install complete'... and I was able to restart the computer with a successful install.

Strange or what?!?!? I can only assume that it must have been stuck loading a driver or waiting for a device to respond... then I unplugged that device and it was able to continue.

I was pesimistic about this all, considering I was installing it on a Sony VAIO, but I didn't have to mess around with anything (aside from unplugging a mouse) to get this to install...

Just thought I'd write down my experience in the hope that it'll help someone install their OS X. (And yes, I purchased my copy of Snow Leopard, but Apple can seriously go screw themselves if they think I'm going to agree to their ridiculous Terms And Conditions about where I'm allowed to install it).
