verdant
Thanks ... I reboot and I try this now Edit : Don't works :/ The 3 easiest methods for getting an nVidia graphics card working in Snow Leopard are as follows (easiest first). 1. Chameleon 2.0 GraphicsEnabler option via com.apple.Boot.plist: <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> 2. Hexadecimal graphics string option via com.apple.Boot.plist: <key>device-properties</key> <string>"for example, 6c0200000100000001000000600200000d00000002010c.." </string> where the graphics string is generated by EFIStudio v1.1 or OSx86Tools..... 3. NVEnabler injector kext, Injector kext, which enables TV-OUT and injects 2nd display operation very well...... The NVEnabler.kext (32bit/64bit) is not just another injector kext because it does on-the-fly ROM patching to give a more stable output configuration.......but you still need to insert your graphics card(s) Device ID into the Info, plist files of the NVDAResman.kext and the NVDANV40hal.kext or NVDANV50hal.kext (to see which of these kexts you need to modify to suit your graphics card(s), look at the list of Snow Leopard supported nVidia cards in post 1.......the older NVDANV30Hal, NVDANV20Hal and NVDANV10Hal kexts are not present in Snow Leopard.....). If none of them give you full CI/QE, then until a proper driver is available, see if you can run in VESA mode without hardware CI/QE.....as follows: Modify the com.apple.Boot.plist file as follows: 1. Go to the Terminal, and at the $ prompt, type in sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist 2. Enter your password when requested. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the cursor within the Terminal window. 3. Type in (without any spaces anywhere except where there are spaces) "Graphics Mode"="1280x1080x32@60" BUT using your display resolution..... between <string> and </string> under <key>Kernel Flags</key>. 4. Move the cursor the Terminal window down until it no longer moves, then press Ctrl O and then Enter, to save the modified com.apple.Boot.plist file. 5. Press Ctrl X to Exit and type "exit" at the $ prompt to log out of the Terminal and then close and quit Terminal. jumbochilli
Thanks I'll try this in a few minutes Thanks man Edit: Not working.... My motherboard only allow the 1st kernel set on the Hazard DVD .... I thought you were using "iATKOS 3" Edit: according to my experiment(note that I'm still on noop stage) form the iATKOS V3, one of following boot loaders got me fully working "310m" nvidia card.(combination with "graphics enabler""nvenabler") AsereBLNv1 Chameleon v2 RC5 AnVal Loader As I stated above, I'm not an expert so there will be no technical explanation be followed. jumbochilli
Okay thanks What wifi do you have ? I have an Atheros ar9285 but it don't works :/ I have Atheros AR5B93. Oh and by the way, I also dual boot with win 7 x64bit and for me dual booting was as easy as pie! I guess you should try "iATKOS v3" again, it's really easy to configure. Earlier I also tried "hazard" destro, but since 310M wouldn't work I nearly packed up my plan of hackintoshing my laptop. Later on, "iATKOS v3" came along and it didn't take too many experimental installations to find out if 310M worked. May be I have been plain lucky or what! Well, it's your call. Good luck. verdant
I tried to install iATKOS s3 .. but I couldn't boot it, even with busratio=17 ...I think I can only boot SL with the Blacknight Kernel.... I don't know if it's possible, but, can I edit the iATKOS S3 DVD by adding the Blacknight Kernel ? Thanks for reply The S3 DVD can boot into 5 kernels: qoopz 10.3.0, qoopz 10.2.0, pcj 0.9 10.2.0, atom 10.3.0 and the modbin 10.0.0 kernel. It boots into qoopz 10.3.0 by default but you can boot using any of the following kernel boot flags, if the default does not work...... "mach_qoopz" for qoopz 10.2.0 "mach_pcj" for pcj v0.9 10.2.0 "mach_atom" for atom 10.3.0 Have you tried mach_qoopz and mach_pcj? kh0annguyen
If Windows is installed first, install EasyBCD 2.0 Beta in Windows and add a OS X entry, and install Chameleon 2.0 RC3 or RC4 on the OS X volume........ Ideally, it would be better to have them on separate HDDs........and do the same........... Hi Verdant. Your post is exactly what I've been researching to do these past few days, which is that I have Win7 x64 currently installed and I'm looking into installing Snow Leopard onto a different hard drive and dual booting both OS's on startup. You're saying installing them on the same hdd is the same process as installing them on separate hdd's? I've found a few threads that touch on this topic but if you have any specific threads about this, could you let me know as well? Basically, if you have Windows7 on one HDD and OS X Snow Leopard on another HDD, then decide which bootloader you want to use as the bootup manager, i.e. choose either EasyBCD 2.0 Beta (now Build 109)in Win7 or Chameleon 2.0 RC3 or RC4 etc. in OS X.........as you already have Win7 installed, I would suggest you use EasyBCD 2.0 Beta as your bootup boot manager (as I have done)..........install OS X and install Chameleon on OS X HDD (to boot Win7 using Chameleon, you may have to choose System Reserved icon rather than Win7 icon AFAIK but could be wrong.......and install EasyBCD Beta on Win7 and add OS X entry.......... If you use a retail install DVD (dual layer DVD) you can install Printer Drivers etc. whereas with a distro (only single layer DVD) you have to install Printer Drivers separately..........you will need a Boot132CD suited to your MOBO chipset/CPu specs to boot the retail install DVD........ Ah, got it. I was able to find a boot132 image for my mobo. I gotta go pick up some blank dvds later today. So to clarify: I will use this boot132 disk to install retail/vanilla Snow Leopard on a spare hard drive... followed by booting back into Windows on the other hard drive to create an entry for it in EasyBCD. Check on the "atheros fix" box in wifi options(iATKOS S3, or v2) in the customization. As you reboot after successful install, you'll be asked to configure your wifi connection, no hassel! Good luck.
