Okay, now I can boot with the Chameleon BootLoader, but I still can't boot Mac OS X ... =/

Any idea ?

Have you set OS X as active ?..........see here.......

What happens when you try to boot OS X from Chameleon with -v ?

Yes, it's as active ;)

I took a screen shot in verbose the moment its about to restart :

Do you have a RTC patched DSDT.aml file and SMBIOS.plist in /Extra?

If not, in iATKOS S3 Customise menu, did you remember to select:

/Extra directory [Default]

>> fakesmc [Default] V2.5

>> Disabler [Default]

>> RTC [Default]

>> EVO Reboot [Default]

Yes, it was selected by default :/

Any other ideas ? =/

Thanks for you replies :D

Suggest you try selecting

> Bootloader Options >> 32-bit boot

and

>> RTC >>> RTC(32bit)

Okay :D

Trying it now =P

EDIT: Not working... Still the same, but during the installation, I got a lot of errors, as shown on the log , which i'll upload tomorrow because I'm on my iPhone now ...

Thanks for you replies again !

EDIT 2:

Here is the installation log :

Do not try everything at once:

Start with basics

>> iATKOS S3 Main System [Pre-selected Default]

>> AsereBLN v1.19 [Default]

>> 32-bit boot

>> /Extra directory [Default]

>> fakesmc [Default] V2.5 [MUST BE SELECTED]

>> Disabler [Default]

>> RTC(32bit))

>> EVO Reboot [Default]

>> Intel SATA/IDE

>> French

Ok thanks, i'm choosing what you've said to me to install

Edit: Still the same ... =/

Edit 2: The installation log : http://paste2.org/p/896065

PS -> When I see the HDD space used, is shown 4Go used only.... should not be 8/9go?

The iATKOS Install DVD distro is a single layer DVD........so < 4,7Go (so no Printer Drivers included etc.....)

Your notebook MOBO has I think:

MOBO chipset Intel HM 55

Sound chipset Conexant Cx20585 (Intel HD)

Graphics chipset ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145, which is a renamed Mobility Radeon HD 4570 with slightly higher clock rates.

But first try choosing ONLY the following

>> iATKOS S3 Main System [Pre-selected Default]

>> Chameleon v2 RC4

>> 32-bit boot

>> /Extra directory [Default]

>> fakesmc [Default] V2.5

>> RTC(32bit))

>> EVO Reboot [Default]

>> Intel SATA/IDE

>> Voodoo PS/2

>> French

with NOTHING for video, sound, network............and after installation, try booting your HDD OS X installation with -v -f

Nope, i have a Nvidia graphic card as shown on my signature...

Sorry, I was going by your posted statement "So, i've Windows 7 x64 Home Premium installed OEM on my Asus X52J, and a iATKOS S3 DVD.".......... LOL

UPDATE: I have been helping someone else.......see here.........and here.......and here.......his Asus U50F has core i3 and Chipset Mobile Intel HM55 Express..........if your notebook does also, you can try booting the iATKOS S3 v2 DVD with -v -x mach_modbin..........

Ah ok Lol :P

So, I was thinking.. The 2nd version of iAtkos S3 should maybe repair my problem ?

Changes on the 2nd version are:

- IOATA and RTC panic problems on some 945 and 965 motherboards solved.

- 32-bit RTC package added for those problematic motherboards.

- AppleIntelPIIXATA Non-AHCI SATA driver that supports 6 ports added.

- Language packs updated to 10.6.3 version since they were from 10.6.0 and they caused some annoying bugs, so they are ok will be ok by the upgrades from now (except the Turkish language which is not supported by Apple).

- VoodooHDA upgraded from 0.2.2 to 0.2.6.1.

- Intel Pro V100 ethernet driver updated. Now it is 64/32 and working good.

- Marvell 88E8038 ethernet support added.

- Kext Utility updated to 2.4.2 version which works better.

.... I will try this tomorrow ;)

Thanks for your replies Verdant !!

Do....oh I assumed you were using iATKOS S3 v2 already............as this is what my blog iATKOS S3 install guide for nForce MOBOs uses........ :P

Ok... I'm booting the DVD with -v -x mach_modbin ...

Edit : not booting ... The only way I can boot the DVD is with -v busratio=17 (or busratio=20) ....

:)

Edit 2: I think I will try another distro... or the retail version... I'm D/L Mac OS x Snow Leopard Universal v3.6 first.

Edit 3: Not working with Mac OS x Snow Leopard Universal v3.6 ... it reboot after the " -v " option, I can't install It.

Edit 4: A friend lent me a Mac OS X Snow Leopard Retail DVD ... I Will try it ;)

Edit 5: Ok... it don't works...

Edit 6: I read that it could be the Chameleon boot loader that don't works for some MOBOs ... Ok, but how do I uninstall the Chameleon Boot Loader now ? :)

Just install your preferred bootloader over it........

Thanks, trying it now ;)

Edit : Hum... No, I still have the Chameleon BootLoader :( ... help :/

(Thanks ;) )

What bootloader are you wishing to use? You need to replace the hidden boot file in / directory with the boot file you wish to use..........

PC EFI v10.6 ...

But how I replace the boot file ? I installed PC EFI v10.6 from the installer -> Nothing... I installed in the menu before installing the whole system -> Nothing ...

And I can't access the Mac HDD ...

Edit : ... No I said nothing ;) ... But I can't find PC EFI v10.6 files :(

Edit 2: Okay.. boot file found ... but, how do I install it ? ;)

To copy the PC EFI v10.6 boot file across into the / directory of the OSX volume, open Terminal, type the following commands ($ being the default shell prompt - DO NOT TYPE!)

cd followed by a space, and then drag and drop the folder containing the PC EFI v10.6 files into the Terminal window

cp -f boot /Volumes/"Your OS X volume name"/

No... don't work... I think it's my motherboard that have no compatibility with Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6 ....

EDIT : It Works !! With the Hazard Distro !! I installed the 1st Kernel shown on the list, and It works ! ...

But I can't see the mouse on the screen: but I can control it :)

Did you select a nVidia video driver option........if so, which.........?

I had set up a dual boot with w 7 64bit and leopard 10.5.8. maybe you can try the same procedure.

i use chameleon bootloader

if you already have a spare partition to install OSX skip that paragraph.

have a use a tool to reduce the size of the windows partition.

you should have some blank space ready to be used for osx install

use the dvd format the blank space for mac,

and install SnowLeopard there.

navigate to

Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

copy it to desktop, open com.apple.Boot.plist to edit it

mine looks like this:

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1920x1080x32</string>

<key>Kernel</key>

<string>mach_kernel</string>

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>rd=disk0s2</string>

<key>Timeout</key>

<string>1</string>

<key>Boot Graphics</key>

<string>yes</string>

<key>Default Partition</key>

<string>hd(0,1)</string>

</dict>

</plist>

the

<string>rd=disk0s2</string>

indicates that the boot is on the second (2) partition of the first and only ( 0 ) disc.

replace "2" with the number in which is your SNow leopard and bootloader installation.

the

<key>Default Partition</key>

<string>hd(0,1)</string>

indicates default OS on which it boots. i chose windows, which is located on the first and only disc ( 0) on the first partition (1)

<key>Timeout</key>

<string>1</string>

indicates the timeout time.i chose minimum ( 1 )

If any of the above lines do not exist in your com.apple.boot.plist file create them.

EDIT: sorry, forgot to mention that you replace the original file with the desktop copy you just edited. always a good idea to keep a copy of the originl though somewhere

Now shut down, turn on, boot with the windows dvd,

choose repair options, command prompt and make your windows partition active ( sorry don;t have enough time to explain, it's simple, google it.

http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-t...ition-vista-xp/

then from windows dvd again, repair options choose "repair start up" (or something like that)

you should be able to boot into windows now.

make again your OSX partition active. you can just run command prompt from the windows (press windows key and type cmd)

you re done!

when i power on my pc it gives me a graphical selection on which os i want to use. you can choose by using the arrows on your keyboard. if you don't press any key it ll just boot in the default OS after a time out

Thanks this is great, all I needed was:

<key>Default Partition</key>

<string>hd(0,1)</string>

To change bootloader to start windows by default.

Did you select a nVidia video driver option........if so, which.........?

I don't have this problem anymore, I re-installed Mac and It works now...

Now, I have some things that works, and other that don't :

TrackPad + Keyboard: (but works if I plug an USB Keyboard) NOK

Graphic Card: nVidia Geforce 310m NOK

Mother Board: Unknown OK

CPU: Intel Core i5 M430 2.27Ghz OK

RAM: 4Go OK

WiFi: Atheros AR9285 NOK

Ethernet: JMicron PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Adapter -> Not Tested Yet

Sound: Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD OK (with Micro)

I don't know which drivers to use on the DVD =/

Hi,

Since I have a similar spec laptop(as you see my sig below), I'd like to share how I got my lappy work.

1. I typed "busratio=17" to get installation to start.

2. after all "formatting" and "partitioning" are done,

3. At the customisation, I selected

"graphics enabler"

"qoopz kernel" the latest one

"voodoo power"

"voodoo PS2 keboard"

"AHCI SATA"

"nvenabler" from graphics option

"voodoo battery"

"card reader"

"atheros" from the wifi option

and the rest, I left them default.

4. Reboot with "busratio=17"

5. Go to " /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration" and copy"com.apple.Boot.plist" onto desktop.

6. Open "com.apple.Boot.plist" and add "busratio=17" between "<string></string> right below "<key>boot flag</key>

7. Now you save the edited ".Boot.plist" and replace it with the one in the original location(L/P/S)

8. Now reboot, this time without "busratio=17"

Hope this'd help. ;)

P.S: I did not choose any sound kext, cause none of those provided would work, but causes kernel panic(voodoo)
