I've spend the entire day getting osx86 to run om my computer and succeeded :)

Compu:

AMD 3500+

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe

Nvidia 7600GS (silent)

SATAII 160 GB (Windows)

IDE 120GB (OSX)

So it runs nicely now, got internet working using the Marvell Yukon 8001 driver. On my first attempt on installing osx86 I allso got the nforce 4 driver working, but I'm using the yukon for now.

I can't seem to get the nvidia driver working tho and since the driver still can't do all the fancy 3d stuff I guess it just ain't worth the trouble.

I have one problem though, every once in a while osx will freeze up for a couple of minutes and continue again (first times I thought it completely hung up on me and pressed the reset button).

Any ideas on fixing this?

edit: it only seems to happen when the terminal is open.

and another question, the onboard sound doesn't work and my creative live pci doesn't as well... Is someone working on drivers or should I opt for a compatible card...

Right, so I've got the internal soundcard working using the AC97 drivers (if you're looking search for AppleAC97Audio.kext).

The sound works perfect, garageband runs faster than on my 15" 1.67Ghz powerbook g4.

The only thing I miss is the aqua acceleration using opengl from a nvidia driver, but hey, it works fast smooth, I'm happy and if something irritates me I just turn to my powerbook :)

thanks for this site for their support (for me the search function :P ) and the people making the drivers. Keep up the good work and let more people enjoy the beauty, power and stability of osx (wich I've enjoyed since the beginning of osx). Hopefully people enjoying a hackintosh will develop more and good freeware (or GPL, whatever) software so they do something constructive and not destructive (eg. virusses) with a perfectly healthy osx installation.

all in all, I think I'll buy the Mac Pro once it comes out. 1 for the support of apple 2nd to support apple.
