I have exhausted every single resource possible and this forum is my last resort...oh man days of searching through the web.

So i'm kind of new to osx86/hackintosh, but i think i've got the hang of it now

I've learned about

DSDT

Kexts

A bit of bootloader

MultiOS

Hardware Specification

But thats all for a simple hacked installation of snow leopard-Im using Hazard, typing on snow right now

Now, i am trying to install a retail snow leopard from boot-132

So i got a retail copy of snow leopard from torrents and it's BIG

I follow a guide to reduce it to around 4.7gb

I delete some useless stuff, mainly printer stuff, languages, additional fonts, java, itunes, migration assistant, quicktime and dictionary. Also stuff like xcode, instruction manual, pictures.

Finally get it down to a normal single layer dvd size.

Ok, then I burn it to a DVD, pretty good results.

Now time to get boot-132 ready.

I first use Slimbuild and get some important kexts in.

Burn it and reboot with it.

I then stick in my "retail" copy and guess what?

I get a unable to locate system file com.apple.boot.plist

Oh no

Well...I make another Slimbuild iso with extra plist attached-i added my com.apple.boot.plist form my current setup

Do the procedure again, now the screen just flickers and goes back to "press f8 to boot options" then a little timer.

That didn't work. I then use a generic boot-132- i get the same results as the first slimbuild

I then use Preboot cd. I get unable to load mach_kernel

Huh?

I have a feeling its something with my custom "retail" dvd.

UPDATE: Interestingly, i tried the method using #####. Guess what i get? Kernel Panic

Says something about cannot find driver for AHCI.

grrrr

/end Update :P

If you guys have a link to a modded retail dvd that can fit on a single layer, i will consider you an idol!

Else, what else is wrong?

Btw...Ive always had the question

The Hazard build that i am using right now fits on a single layer

Yet it's snow, has all the apps, Extra kexts, extra apps, languages, all that junk, in ONE disk!!!??

How is that POSSIBLE.... Has the guy compressed everything?

Thanks for reading this long post....I hope you can give some help.

Heres my sys specs if you need it.

Mobo:

Gigabyte EP43-UD3l

4 gb ddr2

2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Cpu-can't remember the exact model

Im using ALC888 Kext for audio and

RTL8169 Kext for ethernet

Sound Card-Creative SE audigy

Never got this working, doesn't recognize any PCI devices.

Any help?

Nvidia 9800GT

Oh, and i've never gotten my gpu working so if you have any pointers on that....

IE no acceleration--tried EFI...Kexts...NVEnabler/NVinject....Gets the sysprofile info good

But no awesome dashboard ripples, no frontrow, no extra resolutions, and no extend monitor!

Any help on that would be appreciated.

Thanks again
