laker2834
Alright heres the deal, I'm trying to get my computer to dual boot Windows 7 and OSX SL 10.6.3 and I'm not totally sure where to begin. I have done this back when iaTkos first started and was successful at that solely due to having a dell computer. Ive made my own computer about a year ago and I'm not sure if I will be able to.If someone can tell me what I need to do such as software (Chameleon, ##### etc.) I'm not sure what would be easiest and how to do it. Also I would like to know if I dual the two Operating systems on separate hard-drives without creating a partition on a single hard-drive(and I don't know much about raid or if that would be an easier route?) Anyways I would appreciate some help and a sense of direction. And I would like to get this done really fast so Thanks in advance. Here are my specifcations CPU:E7400 Motherboard:Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Graphics Card:Diamond ATI Radeon HD 4670 Hard Drive: 1 TB TOTAL - Western Digital Blue Caviar 500gb + Seagate 500gb Barracuda Kensington Bluetooth adapter*** KEYBOARD FUNCTIONALITY DEPENDENT ON THIS *** Memory: 8gb total= 4 gb Kingston + 4 Gb Crucial (I know you're not supposed to mix) Trendnet Wireless N usb adapter Onboard Ethernet 2.0 adapter (on motherboard) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/221059-help-with-dual-booting-windows-7-and-sl-on-ep45-ud3p/ Share on other sites
yoshinonet32451
hey laker. I also have the same question. Right now I have win 7 on raid 0 using the yellow ich10r south bridge on ep45ud3p. And I was thinking about inserting another Hard disk into the purple sata port which is controlled by jmicron controller and install mac os x. Then install EasyBCD on win 7 to configure the bootloader. From what I know, AHCI must be selected in the bios on the controller which you intend to install mac and both Ich10R and Jmicron have that ability. EasyBCD works on Hard drives that already have the OS installed and I am NOT sure if it will still work if the OS are on separate HDs. Heres what I know will Work. Use a single HD with 2 partitions (one for mac and win). Follow LifeHacker guide to install SL (http://lifehacker.com/5360150/install-snow-leopard-on-your-hackintosh-pc-no-hacking-required) Then go to this link (http://thebackpackr.com/hackintoshing-with-snow-leopard/) to dual boot win 7 and mac. hope that help. Hey thanks a lot, I have a few questions.. I'm unfamiliar with Easy BCD or Chameleon.. Why do I need them and also the instructions say I will need a MAC computer but I don't have one.. Do I really need one. If you can answer that I will thank you forever!
