I have been trying alot with this board. it's been difficult to get going. there are things about mine that do not add up with other peoples working builds

starters my Audio works off the Install along with the LAN (ALC889), booting upgrading to 10.6.3 and installing any bootloader will disable Audio and make Quicktime not work

(Audio could be fixed, but WTF quicktime)

If I use Kakewalk I have no Audio (should be) but also no LAN (not right), installing the bootloader to the HDD will boot but again, quicktime does not work.

The closest I got to a fully functional system is Installing off ##### and upgrading to 10.6.3 but not adding any bootloaders to the HDD. This can pass, but I would like a complete system.

Does anybody have an Idea why my board is not acting as it should? and should I get the 10.6.3 disc?

How was the board installing OSX? Relatively easy? Just wondering because I am looking for a mobo for my first build.

Thanks

The Install works very well, but you will be using the CD to boot every time and Quicktime is not working which worrys me (after update)

Geekbench gave me 8200 wih only 2GB of RAM installed on 32bit mode. Newegg and TigerDirect stopped Carrying the EX58 gigabyte boards and amazon charges too much for these. so this is your bet for an i7 build right now

Would you reccomend a ex58-ud5 over this board?

Newegg and TigerDirect don't sell them anymore when I checked multiple times. if you want to pay 50 USD extra over what it's actually worth, than check Amazon. this board is 2/3rds of that overall price and is better as it is, but not as good for OSx
