Guys updated some files and after that I get a Kernel Panic when ever I try to boot.

All I want to do is boot into osx then remove the Kext which is causing the problem but I cant.

Have tried -x -v -f -cpus=1 nothing seems to work.

Why would the safe mode not work ?

How can I force it to work ?

Would hate to re-install the OS for the 100th time.

Esp. as I had everything finally working after a months work of struggling with this.

another case of having to find my own solution to the problem.

If any of you guys get stuck with the same problem.

Solution= Install Mac Drive.

Access your mac partition and time machine backups.

Restore from backup or delete the offending kext

I am newbie in this forum, and I can not open a new topic yet, so If not a problem I would like to explain my problem here because is very similar to your problem.

I have a Acer Aspire One with triple boot: Ubuntu, XP and Mac OSx 10.5.4, problem started when I try to install an update to 10.5.5, I did double click and the computer ask for restart, now I only get a panic screen with an error said "Unsupported CPU...........", as chinoy said I dont want to reinstall everything (all 3 OS), I only want to recover my last know working state of MAC OSx, I realize that I have access via Ubuntu to the Mac partition, and if I dont understand wrong you say that I can access the partition and maybe erase the package that is causing the panic, or maybe restore any backup made by the time machine?

I get a Darwin/x86 boot menu, but I dont know what can I do from here. I have some acknowledge of Unix and XP but very limited in MAC OS. So any help will be very appreciate.

Thanks,

Eduardo
