Got a cheapo generic USB-N dongle that's using the 3070 chip off amazon a week or so ago - rearranged my studio and running ethernet is no longer possible. I went with the Ralink as it seems to be very well supported.

I downloaded the 3070 driver from the Ralink website, installed, reboot - nothing. So I opened up the info.plist for the kext and created a key/dict to match the device info (x3070 prod, x184f dev ie: <integer>12400 and <integer>5263). Upon doing this, I found the appropriate keys are already in the info.plist, so it should have worked to begin with. I went ahead and rebooted w/ the update kext, nothing.

So I double checked Sys Profiler and I don't even see the RT2870USBWirelessetc.kext (whatever it is.. in windows atm and can't verify name/spelling) being loaded. I'm fairly confident this is now the issue. The USB key *is* recognized under System Profiler.

Everything is under 32bit to take possible 64bit issues out of the picture. Also tried all of the above using the Ralink provided 10.5 driver, but neither made any difference.

I'm stuck.. any ideas?

for reference..
