mh4pac
I Have NEW HP ProBook 4510s, I installed Leopard patched 10.5.0 well, when I tiried to setup 10.5.8 it shows "Still wating for root device", I don't know why, I just delete all partition (even HP recovery and HP tools) because I need more partitions (WinXP, WIN 7, Linux SUSE and Leopard + + = 6), and setup Win 7, when I wanted to re-setup 10.5.8 -> same problem, when i tried to setup up Leopard 10.5.0 I get Mandatory Icone -see the picture-, I know how to setup 10.5.0 by heart, but for this problem, I really don't know how to resolve it, I tired lots of solutions but witout issues. Please HELP!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211159-mandatory-icone-after-installation/ Share on other sites
BlackRadiation
"Still Waiting for Root Device" means that you did not install a chipset patch or fix. (Example) For me, iDeneb has the option of installing a ICHx Fix which is for intel chipsets 7-9 series. Look around in the installer options and find the chipset driver that matches yours. mh4pac
My problem is not "still wating for rot device", my problem is that I can't install any of MAC version for PC anymore, I tried 10.5.0 then 10.5.7 and 10.5.8, I always get this screen, and when I started to work on Hackintosh Leopard 10.5.0 two moth ago I Install it lots of times, and it was working perfectly every time, but now all I get is this screen!!! I don't know if it is related to HP recovery and HP tool partition that I delete, or something related to BIOS (I did modifications before trying to install 10.5.8, then I restored to default -every thing should be normal-)!! UP!!! Any help will be appreciated!! mh4pac
Problem solved : It was BIOS configuration : I should select AHCI in SATA Mode, not IDE, thank you very much!!
