Get to desktop. 1024x768. Okay, time to install video... but... Everything fine except Graphics card. PCI-E Nvidia 7200GS 512mb. EfiStudio and OsxTools only have the 7200GS 256mb. I get a black screen when I use 9f23installer.pkg and efi studio. I must have done a plist edit or something, but I don't remember how. Spending many hours here, can I get a hand that will point me in the right direction? I just can't remember how I did it. I had dual screen working... thought I had natit dual 0.02 and nvinstaller, but I've tried those as well. When I get my black screen, I clean up with "1.) rebooted with -s option 2.) mount -uw / 3.) changed to Extensions : cd System/Library/Extensions 4.) deleted all Geforce and Nvidia-, NVinject-, NVDarwin-, NVKush- etc. kexts & caches by: rm -r Ge*.* && rm -r NV*.* && rm -r ../Extensions.mkext Help! 10.5.6 from iPC Vanilla Kernel VIa/Sis/SB chipset ALC888 DualVSTA PS2Keyboard Fix EFI studio, Osxtools, and Kext Helper on install. phoenix_iii
I see I shouldn't be doing those RMs and I've been hampering myself with that... Did another clean install with no gfx specified. Tried 9f23...pgk + EFi studio for 7200GS 256 (mine is detected at 512mb, which it is). Black screen. Same with just 9f23 with no EFI. I am pretty sure I had to do a 'custom efi' and put in the 3 numbers, I just forget where to do that/how. Been looking (2am), but was pretty fried. Link/ideas? phoenix_iii
you need to update you have to download the newest software Running 10.5.8 (Apple Update, thx Vanilla Kernel!). What software? I found UInstaller, but still didn't have the card listed. Thinking of buying another video card that IS in the list... but worried I am doing something else wrong. p3 [Also tried custom EFI string, black screen] DVI + VGA, both black. Notes... 92fs w and w/ EFI string osx86tools - Black Screen NVKushINstaller - black screen Osx86 EFI + touching/clearing, Custom GeForce - Black Screen - Removed EFI string - black screen I am using Carbon Copy to restore from scratch partition to main each time. I have a Palit 8400GS 512mb PCI-E. Arrived today! Why can't I just use EFI string for this card from OSX86Tools or Efi Studio? (I tried, it didn't work) Argh! Is it because I am using Carbon Copy? Do i need to do some chown root:wheel mojo? I don't remember!!
