I have a need (emotional attachment?) for Open VMS, so instead of heating my house with old VAX equipment, I run SIMH VAX, which is an open source emulator for lots of old CPUs.

I can compile it to run on Windows, Linux and now Snow Leopard, but ethernet seems to just not work on Snow Leopard. Libpcap seems to be functioning, I can put the ethernet adapter in promiscuous mode, and the MAC firewall is disabled.

Anyone familiar with libpcap issues related to Snow Leopard?

I've got the same issue, tried the info at http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/922 first - everything works, but no networking. So then I tried macports: "sudo port install simh" - same deal.

Have you had any progress?

No, none yet. I also tried macports - same result. There is very little information on this project available. I would think whoever did the macport would have some website or info about what's going on. I has to be related to the OS X libpcap implementation. Looks like I'm stuck running my VAX stuff under Linux for a while yet.
