fairlie Posted July 2, 2006 Share Posted July 2, 2006 The Sound Issue About the system It's running an AC97 onboard audio card. The motherboard uses the VIA VT8247 chipset. The problem No audio! Neither left or right. "appleac97audio.kext" doesn't even load. What I have tried I have tried install new .kext's but they all come up with the same error message (or extremely similiar). I have tried to fix all permissions and chown'ed and chmod'ed them. The error Straight from the terminal... this is after I ran "sudo kextload AppleAc97Audio.kext". sudo kextload AppleAC97Audio.kext16IOAC97AudioCodec is not compatible with its superclass, 9IOService superclass changed? kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension AppleAC97Audio.kext load failed for extension AppleAC97Audio.kext (run kextload with -t for diagnostic output) The Graphics Issue About the system I'm using a Radeon 9250 AGP card. The problem It's a 256mb card but on bootup it detects it as 16mb! It is slow at rendering things and not how it should be. What I have tried Nothing yet, couldn't find anything related on the forums. Please can somebody tell me how I can resolve these problems, I've been trying for hours on end! I am a complete newbie to OSX so please can you say things simply... I appreciate all the help and hope that my post will help you determin the problem.
