srs5694
Try installing with as few options as possible. Unnecessary drivers (or sometimes even drivers that appear to be necessary) and options can cause the installation to fail. If you omit drivers for some of your system-specific hardware, you can always add them back after the base installation is working. That way, if they cause the system to fail to boot next time, you'll at least know what to remove to get it working again. faenil
noway...I installed with no options selected apart from ChamaleonRC3+10.5 and 10.6.2 Combo update... I also installed ChamaleonRC4, and it hangs on "system uptime in nanoseconds" ... the system boots successfully in SafeBoot but doesn't boot and hangs on "system uptime in nanosecs" in Normal mode Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208890-hazard-sl-1062/#findComment-1395868 Share on other sites
srs5694
If you're willing to try again, try without the 10.6.2 (or even 10.6.1) update. I had a problem with that on one system, although I don't recall if it was a Hazard installation or one using Empire EFI.... faenil
I tried without the 10.6.2 update...it gets stuck somewhere in the loading of the yukon driver... srs5694
You could try removing the yukon driver, then. You'll need to boot the installer, but instead of installing, run the Terminal application. This will give you access to the hard disk. You can then locate and delete the relevant kext files. You'll need to know a little about Unix shell commands (cd, rm, ls, and so on), and you'll need to know the name of the kext file you need to delete. faenil
can I also delete the file from Windows using macdrive? I've done some editing in kext files (deleted some/added others) now the systems hangs on "system uptime in nanoseconds" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208890-hazard-sl-1062/#findComment-1396481 Share on other sites
faenil
ok nanoseconds solved by deleting AppleTymecdriver.kext ... now the problem is the video card, I installed the AtiController4800.ketx and the QE CI Exotic 10.6.1 patch (I'm using SL 10.6.1 now) but when the system is booting, the apple vanishes and the view remains gray... faenil
ok even this problem has been solved... I updated to 10.6.2.. the problem now is, the video card is being recognized as it should... but I can't change the resolution, I have applied Ati4800Controller (added id), EVOEnabler, ATIX2000 (added id)... but when I install QE CI Exotic Patch 10.6.2 the system boots but the display is messed up...thus making the system unusable. I also tried to replace boot with PCI EFI10.5 with GraphicsEnabler set on YES but when I reboot the bootloader doesn't start, ERROR ALLOCATION MEMORY (address, address) is the only thing written on the screen... any idea? srs5694
I can't offer any suggestions about your current problem; but I can suggest that you try searching (using the forum's search function and/or your favorite Web search engine) for information on your video card and OSx86. If that doesn't help and you don't get further replies here, try posting a new message with a subject that's relevant to your current problem, probably in another sub-forum (post-installation or the one on ATI graphics cards).
