JagNL
Hello fellas, I was hoping someone could help me here. I have a Asus EN9600GT in my hackintosh that has dual DVI-D outputs. I am trying to output to 2 HP LP2465 Monitors (both have DVI-I inputs). I have my video card is fully working with one monitor using either a DVD-D cable or a DVI-I cable. I can also get both monitors to display a desktop if I hook the top DVI output on the video card using a DVI-I cable and the bottom video card DVI output using a DVI-D cable (but I get no output on one screen when I use a DVI-I cable on both DVI outputs on the video card). When I do it in this fashion, OSX sees the one monitor via the top output of the video card using the DVI-I cable and properly puts the screen in 1920x1200x32@60Hz and labels it LP2465 (Monitors Native resolution). The other monitor on the bottom output using the DVI-D cable on the bottom DVI output of the video card displays and has several resolutions available (1920x1200x32@75Hz) but does not have an option for 1920x1200x32@60Hz! OSX also is seeing the monitor and labeling it "VGA" instead of "LP2465". Is there anyone who has this card running dual dvi outputs properly and getting both monitors detected properly? Also, can anyone provide guidance on what to change to get this corrected? I am using a customer EFI string and I have placed the device ID in the NVHAL and NVRESMAN kexts info.plist. How does OSX define each output on the video card? Also, why won't the bottom output of the video card output any video signal at all when I use a DVI-I cable (only works using DVI-D cable)? Any insight is appreciated! -Thanks, Jag Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208764-cant-get-dual-monitors-dual-dvi-working-need-some-direction-asus-en9600gt/ Share on other sites
JagNL
Just a quick bump! I was able to force the resolution using SwitchResX but I am still not understanding why the bottom output on my video card only works with a DVI-D cable and why when it is set up as such the monitor is not detected as it's model but as VGA.
