akasoldats
I get a kernel panic ever time I try to mount a dmg file. I know that this means I need a seatbeltfix but I am running the 9.2.0 Netkas Sleep Kernel on 10.5.6. Also my Asus p4p Se isn't compatible with voodoo 9.5 so how can i fix this? I think the key here is that you have to have matching versions of seatbelt and kernel. You could remove seatbelt.kext I have known others who have not had issues without. I would backup your existing one first before you remove anything. Beerkex'd
If you're on 10.5.6 then find the Qoopz 9.6.0 Voodoo kernel and use that instead, then you don't have to worry about system and seatbelt.kext. It's around here somewhere. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208750-dmg-kernel-panic-1056/#findComment-1394834 Share on other sites
Booher619
Why thank you Great guide Lanceomni, sorry for the typo, I meant without the kernel panic. But I'm running with a 9.5.0 kernel, I updated 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 and I'm using the 10.5.5 Seatbelt.kext like you said for the 9.5.0 kernel. Since I updated, I can no long mount .DMG files, I understand that is has something to do with my seatbelt not being correct (sounds funny) but I was wondering if I need to upgrade my kernel because I read the post above me say about updating the kernel. I really appreciate any help you can give me. There are new kernels based on the original Voodoo code with all the same great features. It is really up to you but these kernels work great and by replacing the vanilla kernel with one of the same version you can leave the proper Seatbelt.kext and System.kext alone. Look for a 9.7.0 kernel based on Voodoo and make sure you have the matching 9.7.0 System.kext and Seatbelt.kext from 10.5.7 and you will be fine.
