hi i just got a quick question, since my searching has failed me.

if i use a e5200 with SL, will SL detect it off the bat? meaning, i won't have to patch it?

i'll be using this installer :http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=195248

the creator says he doesn't know if it will work. why wouldn't it work? thanks

I suppose it depends on the bootloader, but even if it's not recognized it should work with his real properties (frequency, cache, etc.). Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I see a couple of hackint0sh running with this CPU however.

yeah, I've seen a couple of hackint0shes running it, so I know OSX will boot and run. I read that if it's marked as 'unknown processor' some programs can't run, such as Silverlight. Is there a way to fix that?

also, since i'm using the gigabyteOSX bootloader, can I later use another bootloader to fix the e5200 recognition IF it is an issue? :)?

Changing the bootloader is very simple: in the / folder (root) there should be a file called "boot". Back it up in another place (your documents for example) and then replace the "boot" in / with a new one (like this Chameleon2 RC4 retouched by Rekursor).

Here's a nice guide in RTF format on how to use Chameleon.

If you're not satisfied with the new bootloader, erase the new "boot" and restore the old one.
