I've got an old Everex notebook but it still works good, I was encouraged to read that Leopard works well on it (tech specs here):

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...verNote_SA2053T

I obtained a copy of iPC 10.5.6 PPF5/final for this laptop, reformatted the hard drive to OSX Extended, performed an install with this customization:

Kernel: 9.6.0 vanilla

Video: Intel GMA950

Chipset: Intel ICHx SATA

Audio: ALC662

Ethernet: PCGenRTL8139

Fix: ACPIFix

PS/2 Device Support: either with or without this option it doesn't detect the trackpad & keyboard. I don't know if the built-in is PS/2 or USB but I think it is PS/2.

USB: PatchedUSB

So the install works great but I need to have the external mouse and keyboard plugged in. It detected my built-in keyboard briefly when I was goofing on Editor but then didn't work after that. Without the external keyboard plugged in, when I first installed it it detected keypress "7" repeating.

Video works great & detects native resolution fine. Internal SATA hard drive and DVD drive work fine. I tried "sound" but it doesn't register a playback device.

Any advices? I installed 3 times with various customizations, booted up successfully each time but without mouse/keyboard, and this customization seems reasonable yet still doesn't work. Do I need to re-install with a new customization, or can I simply add/change drivers?

Also: my intention is to dual boot into Win7, is chameleon recommended for that?

Thanks every/anyone.

I accessed Podarok's set of 10.5.3 drivers at this link:

http://my.ukrweb.info/en/node/549

I tried installing every kext that was included, but got a big boot crash for my efforts.

So I whittled it down to this list:

AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext (Battery Indicator)

ApplePS2Controller.kext (touchpad driver)

RT73USBWirelessDriver.kext (WiFi driver)

USBWirelessUtility.app (program for operating WiFi card)

It was a bit of a challenge rebooting over and over, switching kexts in and out via Terminal off the install DVD.

The PS2 controller kext completely enabled the onboard keyboard and trackpad, I didn't have to bother using USB devices. However, the trackpad has no scroll functions nor "tap to click" function, I suppose that's a consequence of the Mac OS. Too bad!

I have no idea what to do with DSDT.aml or com.apple.Boot.plist, I guess it doesn't matter since the install seems to work okay without them.

Anyway, then I tried to perform an upgrade to 10.5.8 and suffered a massive crash. The Combo Upgrade from Apple froze up at 10% so I suppose I'll have to re-install 10.5.6 again, at least this time I have an idea how to go about it in one pass.

Question, should I partition the drive so that I have a Windows 7 partition as well? Can I use BootCamp to do that? Or does BootCamp simply not work on Hackintosh?

Thanks everyone, especially Podorak! For a brief period of time yesterday I had a full-functioning MacBook, that is, before I tried upgrading it.
