Problem after 10.5.8 update

Hey guys. Hope someone can help.

 

I installed iatkos 5i on my Dell XPS 420. I had it working perfectly at 10.5.5 but stupidly installed the 10.5.8 update. I guess curiosity just got the better of me :D

 

Any way like i said everything was working perfectly so i know it works. I backed up my kexts and all that but didnt make a full backup before the update unfortunately.

 

Anyway my problem is i cant boot after the combo update. I thought if i just replaced my /system/library/extensions forlder on the OSX HDD with the backup extentions folder on my external HDD it would boot correctly.

 

In verbose mode i'm getting "root device not found" so im assuming my sata kext is messed up. I could be wrong though.

 

Can anyone tell me how to replace my extensions folder with the backup?
