Hey all,

Need a bit o help. I've been running a hackintosh setup for about 3 months now and I'm just now experiencing some problems.

Whenever I plug in a usb flash drive, hd or the like I get a kernel panic. The funny thing is I have a mouse/keyboard and printer running off my usb just fine. It's just when I plug in a new usb storage device I get a KP.

Another issue is my KP doesn't generate a panic log.

The only change I've made to my setup recently was trying to enable ntfs write privileges. I followed this guide,

but it didn't work. So I tried a combo of macfuse and ntfs3g and that didn't work either (I didn't think it would because I'm running in 64bit). I uninstalled both apps, which leads me to my problem, a KP with new usb devies.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I would love to be able to read a panic log!

I too have recently gotten a kernel panic from a usb device, the Elgato Turbo.264, and I am not sure why. I will check to see if mine generated a panic log or not later tonight. Is it random, or immediately after inserting the drive. When it happened on mine it was right after I had it come out of sleep. Search in Finder for the programs you installed and it may come up with some leftover frameworks if you haven't already done that. If it does delete the files related to the programs. I will update when I check the Console later
