apocalypsefu
Well my install of Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel_Amd (sse2/sse3) EFI V8, went fine until I went to load it for the first time and that welcome screen kept repeating over and over right after the select to transfer data option. So i did some force AppleComplete thing (can't remember exactly) and it fixed that problem and I was able to get to the mac desktop fine. So the first problem I noticed was there was no sound. I am sure I selected sound drivers but I am not quite certain. The second problem was that none of the menu items would display. Like I would right click but all that would show up is a blank box. And finally (so far) I was unable to connect to the internet. It says a cable is unplug when it clearly is. So I have really no idea what to do at all. I attached a .txt file that i got from CPU-Z to show my system specs. I hope someone can help me out cuz I have no idea what to do. EDIT: Also I installed this on a separate hard drive. I didn't partion it either, i just installed it on the whole thing. FAMILY_PC.txt Have you tried using iPCx86's installer? its supposedly universal and has many more kext's preloaded to the disk than any other installer that ive used. i love it. anyway; what sound card, network card, and video card do you have? jarhead2998
Check this page out: http:// pc wiz computer .com /ipcosx86 /?page_id=96 (remove the spaces, it wouldnt let me post it otherwise.) it should have an image of all available kexts to install from the get go on the iPC install disk. I would recommend the Voodoo kernel. (unless you prefer a different one) For video, i would install with the NVinject 0.2.1 512MB VRAM kext. (i looked up your card, and im assuming it has 512mb right?) For sound, it should be sigmatel chipset. (integrated) I looked it up at dell.com. They have several kexts for sigamtel audio chipsets, you just have to figure out which one it is. If you look at the chipset itself on the board (should be by the audio jacks, its a very little black square.) you should see STAC92XX. (xx being specific to your set.) ex: there is a Dimension E521 in my room, i looked at it and it had STAC9227; There is a kext for it. Yours cant be too different. Your Intel PRO/100 VE has a kext also. With my install i needed many more kexts/patches/fixes. But just start out with these and let me know if you run into any more errors. Make sure you load the disk in verbose mode "-v" so you can see exactly what is happening and so you can see any errors. Oh, and i would go ahead and install the "Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5," under Fixes and Patches; It allows you to mount DMG's. You will probably end up needing to install one of the usb fixes, but dont worry about that yet. Its a lot to take in but let me know how it goes. Get it here: http:// thepiratebay.org /torrent /4608978 /iPC_OSX86_10.5.6 (once again remove spaces) Its the one i got. Its good.
