TheRealPorkchop
I'm gonna be brief with this to start with, I'll list all the spec's and stuff when I'm at my actual desktop. I've got iPC ppf5 final installed on my desktop which is an ECS nForce SLIT-A 570 Intel board with nForce chipset. The graphics card is an nVidia 7600GS. It doesn't seem to matter which kernel I've picked so far, I've picked 3 different ones, the system keeps going to sleep. Or it seems like it's sleep, a quick "pop" of the power button and I'm back at the desktop until another 30 seconds or so goes by. The install took awhile and it took awhile to get it to load back up to finish the install. This problem showed up during the first boot while you're filling out the registration and "transfer my settings" stuff. At first I thought the computer had just shut down and so I restarted it, but then it happened again and when I hit the power button and my finger slipped off, it came back up to the finishing screen. So I continued to do this until I had finished those selections and had made it to the desktop. The drives show up, sound works, ethernet isn't working yet but I can't keep the screen up long enough to figure it out. I tried the StageXNU kernel first, then the ModBin kernel, last kernel I've tried right now is the VooDoo kernel. All 3 yield the same problem of it going to "sleep" or that's what I'm calling this problem. It can sit for an hour and you can hit the power button and it fires right back up to where it left off, weird. I thought actually getting a Hackintosh to sleep was the problem, not the other way around. Could this be due to my choice of video driver? It's actually shutting the processor down too because the fan is stopping until I hit the power button again. So that leads me to believe it's a sleep issue. I'm not sure yet what is working and what isn't cause I can't get past this problem to find out and report my findings.
