Can't restart or boot

I have a gigabyte ep45-ud3p mobo and when I did a new install just as a test, my comp would reboot and shut down totally, something is stopped doing PART WAY through the first install (it was good for 2 months then stopped doing it).

 

Is this an smbios issue or a power management issue?

 

the hard drives will shut down, the screen goes to "no input" and it has more or less shut down, but not quite....

any ideas?

I have CS4, logic, ilife, iworks, final cut pro and a heap of other software installed if that matters.
