chickenlittleeeeeeeeee
Ok i just made my 6 month old Dell Studio 15 into a hackintosh! What i used to do this. -Kalyway DVD v.10.5.2 -320gb External hardrive as my Partition -iDeneb Combo update (updated me to 10.5.8) After all this hard work to get it to even turn on i ran into driver problems and other flaws. 1.) Audio: I have High Definition Audio and just used VoodooHDA to make it work 2.) iChat: After updating to 10.5.8 i could not access iChat preferences or video preview plus when i tried to video chat someone for the first time, I could not hear them nor could they hear me (but my audio drivers were installed) 3.) Ethernet: My laptop uses a Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Input. By using one of the dell studio install guides on the website i got it to work. But everytime i turn my computer on, i have to go to terminal and type in "sudo tcpdump -i en0" to make the ethernet work again. Anyway i could make it run that on start up? 4.) Wireless: i have a Dell Wireless 1510-n card. I have no idea how to make it work. Please Help! 5.) Display/Graphics: I have a Intel GMAx4500mhd card.... No hope for me to get 1280x800 resolution anytime soon. Unless anybody has any solutions to get me out of the crappy default resolution?? If ANYONE can please take the time and write a full helpful explanation to ANY one of the bolded problems. I will be really really appreciated!!!! P.S. If any other information is need fell free to ask me. I will get back to you with the answers ASAP <_< :D :D :D :D :D :D P.S.S Im a noob so please bear with me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/205162-dell-studio-15-help-please/ Share on other sites
SwithDrawn
If you want a script to run on startup for number 3, just copy it into TextEdit and save it as something like myscript.command. Chmod the file and make sure it runs in terminal. You can then open preferences, go to Accounts, click on your account and go to "Login Items" and drag the script into the window, now it will run on startup. However, because it's sudo you'll still have to enter a password. At least it's less typing Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/205162-dell-studio-15-help-please/#findComment-1373583 Share on other sites
Akutsito
I think you can modify your com.apple.boot.plist to fit a custom resolution, or if you're using Chameleon, in /Extras/com.apple.boot.plist. In fact, try http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=173338 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/205162-dell-studio-15-help-please/#findComment-1373840 Share on other sites
