Toronto-Joe
I have a 1 TB La Cie External Hard Drive. I use it with Time Machine and iTunes. Whenever it is mounted on my desktop it starts making sounds that seems like it is writing and or reading the disk. These sounds continue even when TM and iTunes are turned off. If i eject the drive it goes quiet and the blue light stops flickering. I have looked at activity monitor and do not see any processes running which would account for the drive being active. Any suggestions? FarGone
I just got the same La Cie 1-ter drive. It chatters a bit, but the tenor doesn't mess with my patience. I cannot figure out how to extract stuff straight out of the drive. It is anything but user-friendly, and so the contents of my Macbook are safely (!?) stored on it...but when I jack it into the USB port, I'm gonna hope someone can give me rudimentary instructions as to how to access the now-300gigs of {censored} that has implanted itself within the recesses of this expensive critter.
