Airport missing

Hi guys,

 

My wife has been complaining that her Hackintosh doesn't get good wifi signal, so she tried to delete the interface itself from network preferences, instead of letting me troubleshoot the router, which is getting on in years now.

 

Problem is, the wifi won't come back up! It isn't even in my interfaces list.

 

I'm tethering her computer with my iPhone right now, but that doesn't have access to my home network for syncing our iPhoto library and movies on our server.

 

It is a TP link card, with an Atheros 5416 chipset.

Do you need any other information to help me out? I've tried deleting my NetworkPreferences.plist and com.apple.airport* in both the user library and the system library.

 

I'm at the end of my rope with this, and don't want to do a reinstall as that would require many trips using my memory stick or a lot of DVDs to backup everything.

 

Any help would be great!

Tried taking the card out, and then replacing it after a reboot with no luck.

 

Ifconfig says the en0 isn't recognized as a type of card.
