hey sorry for the double post but not sure where to put it.

looking to build a new super awesome gaming machine instead of buying the 27 inch imac.

Currently i am considering parts along the lines of:

CPU: Intel Core i7 920 $369

Mobo: ASUS P6T $279

RAM: Kingston 6GB DDR3-1600 $175

HDD1: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB $105

GPU: HIS 1GB 5850 $377

Case: CoolerMaster CM Storm Sniper Black Edition $225

PSU: Corsair HX-650 – $164

ODD: Sony-NEC Optiarc AD-7240S $43

CPU HSF: Noctua NH-U12P SE2 $95

Monitor: Asus 27" MT276H BLACK LCD – 2MS $645

Total $2477

I would like to dual boot windows 7 and Snow leopard

A link to a really good and up to date installation guide would be much appreciated.

Also are there any parts on there with compatibility issues that i need to reconsider. Also any suggestions would be nice on replacements for said incompatible parts.

Im new to the whole OSx86 scene but i've been using macs for a while....so treat me like a newbie

thanks in advance,

james

you would be better off getting a real mac mate! the whole point of hackintosh is to have osx running on a normal pc and NOT paying apple prices!

If your going all out with parts.... get a real mac..less hastle! works better! trust me i have a G5 and Mac Book pro along with my hackintosh (see my sig) the G5 is much better than the hackintosh, the hackintosh runs 100% solid! but its a risky buisniss updating! you ust dont know if its gonna cause problems or not! so if you are going to spend this much on a hackintiosh get a real mac! plus you can use windows 7 on it also!

my hackintosh cost me $399 all in!

My macbook pro cost $1200

this is my G5...

Quad-Core 8-Core

One 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processor

Two 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processors

6GB (six 1GB) memory

640GB hard drive 1

18x double-layer SuperDrive

NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512MB

$2,499.00 :) (same price as you are going to pay)
