Problem Between Vista and Snow Leopard booting

Hi, Installed SL on my:

 

P6T Deluxe V1

i7 920

GTX 260

6GB RAM

750gb HDD (Vista) SataII

500GB HDD (Snow) SataII

 

Tried to boot off of my Snow with -v but I got a "Still Waiting for root device" error.

So I read around and saw I needed to enable 'Configure Sata as [AHCI]' Before it was set to [iDE].

 

Here is my problem, I cannot boot Vista under 'Configure Sata as [AHCI]' It BSOD with 0x0000007B

I have to change it back to [iDE] to be able to boot it. But under [iDE] Snow wont boot. Is there anyway I can make vista boot under [AHCI]? Or do I need to clean install it under that mode. :'(
