Hello everyone :)

I've looked at several posts and articles about building a hackintosh.. like this one:

http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to-build...start-to-finish

but I cant find any information on creating a restore disk.

my question is, is it possible to create a restore disk (or image) for a dual boot system (Snow Leopard & Windows 7?

I have not built the hackintosh yet, but I imagine I would be using a separate HDD for each operating system. I currently use acronis 10 to create restore disks for my current Windows 7 PC.

Many Thanks!

Daz

theres many ways to skin a cat 2004r3k.jpg

for windows i use ubcd4win or vistape.net to recover files first then re image from a partition or separate disk.

for osx during install i choose partition tab in disk utility and create 2 partitions same size split and in advanced set to GUID then name them anything, i chose OSX and OSXRESTORE .. after i got system runnign perfect i clone that drive with disk utility Restore tab .. drag and drop.. yep its that easy.. if i ever have probs with OSX i choose OSXRESTORE and backup files then reverse clone OSXRESTORE to OSX.. done deal :) dual boot dual drives = give me my data!

Thanks LatinMcGyver

thanks for your solution :)

I've given the matter some thought - and realised, why would I want to restore both OS's at the same time. - Its much more likely that I'll want to restore just one OS if it fails.

Thanks very much for the suggestion - I shall look to do that :)

Cheers!

D
