gesatzs
Hi there, I wasn't sure where to start the topic. I hope you'll understand... I have a MacBook pro and an old WinXP PC. ... and an external drive. This external drive was plugged on my macbook (via USB) to create a small partition on it (250Go), to host Time Machine backups when plugged with usb on my macbook. It works fine. ! Now... This same external hard drive is now connected (only) to my pc with e-sata. The Pc recognize the large partition on the hard drive (NTFS) but does not show the TimeMachine partition in win XP. To "see" this small 'TimeMachine' partition, I need to access the properties of the hard disk, and make it look for all volumes. It then shows the 2 partition, the large one (NTFS), and the small one (the timeMachine partition). The small timeMachine partition has no name, no letter. (I can see it exists, I cannot see content nor info about it except size) Also, I can access to the large (NTFS) partition (connected to Esata to the PC), from the MacBook via network (wifi). BUT the small TimeMachine partition doesn't show at all in MacBook Finder. QUESTION : If the disk remains connected to the PC (with e-sata), is it possible to access the TimeMachine partition from the macbook (and do back up) ? In order to do so : do I need to make it visible by WinXP ? ... how ? Thank you in advance for sharing ideas...
