Hello gentlemen:

Here are the specs of the PC I intend to install Snow Leopard on. I have the retail DVD and intend to use that if possible.

Motherboard: Biostar MCP6P-M2+

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 @ 2.6 GHz

Memory: 4 GB DDR2 PC-6400 RAM @ 800 MHz (Generic)

Hard Disk: SATA Seagate Barracuda 750 GB HDD @ 7200 RPM

Video: PCIe - NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT

I use the onboard ethernet and onboard Realtek audio chip. Let me know if I can do this on a vanilla install and the instructions to do so. If not, what OSx86 distribution should I get? Thanks!

Guru

You are kidding, right. Vanilla install on an AMD processor???

Maybe more research, less posting.

Probably should have mentioned if there was a drop in replacement kernel like Voodoo. And please... I am tired of the rhetoric. Just answer politely next time or don't bother to answer. I already did my share of research and decided to post.

rhetoric.>>> Etymology: Middle English rethorik, from Anglo-French rethorique, from Latin rhetorica, from Greek rh“torik“, literally, art of oratory, from feminine of rh“torikos of an orator, from rh“tōr orator, rhetorician, from eirein to say, speak €” more at word

Date: 14th century

1 : the art of speaking or writing effectively: as a : the study of principles and rules of composition formulated by critics of ancient times b : the study of writing or speaking as a means of communication or persuasion

2 a : skill in the effective use of speech b : a type or mode of language or speech; also : insincere or grandiloquent language

3 : verbal communication : discourse

Well yes there are replacement kernels. I am surprised that in your research you did not come across say legacy kernel, chocolate kernel

I don't know what prompted the dictionary definition as I do know what the word rhetoric means. Forget it. I'm going somewhere else for assistance.
