hatrix
I finally got a release burned to a dvd (iDeneb 10.5.6) with AMD support and went to go install. It booted up into darwin, and then I got to the apple screen. It loaded for a few seconds, and then a red stop sign appeared over the apple. I then booted with -v and noticed that there was a "still waiting for root device" error. I only have one HDD, a 500GB SATA split into 3 partitions. My optical drive is set as slave (jumper settings for master doesn't seem to want to be detected). Maybe that is the problem ? I don't see why though. I googled this and tried many suggested solutions, such as changing SATA to AHCI, etc. System specs: Pi-AM2RS780G mobo (780g chipset) HD 4830 Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 500GB samsung SATA Any help is appreciated. I would really like to get this installed. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201938-still-waiting-for-root-device-error/ Share on other sites
hatrix
Well I added SB700 kexts to my Kalyway dvd and I still received the error. This is very frustrating.
