Hi.. I have been reading around here for weeks and following various peoples guides how to do things and generally struggling with little or no result. I can only boot the ipc 10.5.6 dvd and its installations, and I can't update from that without breaking the install..

I have been an apple user for years and have retail copies of leopard, leopard server, snow leopard, tiger, etc etc. and would really like to be able to do a retail install. The machine I am working on is a HP Pavilion ZD8001ap. I have a pretty good idea which kext files and kernel etc i need to use, I just need some help to install it all correctly on the boot-dfe-146-bum image file that I have, unfortunately the read me file i got with it is somewhat incomplete in terms of explaining the procedure to put an alternate kernel and kexts etc on the initrd.img before burning the cd..

Ideally I would like to make a cd which can boot the snow leopard dvd or the leopard or leopard server dvd.. is this possible or does 10.6 need a different kernel etc? I am usung a voodoo 9.5 kernel

thank you so much for your help and so sorry if im breaking your protocols putting this in the wrong place or something i did try a search honestly.. :ihw_wow:
