Red Chops
Alright, it's been a long and winding road, but I think I'm almost out of the woods here. My current issue is this: I was able to boot up just fine and run SL when using no graphic enhancements, no modified files or anything like that. Since then I've been trying to fix the resolution and get QE:CI working. I have an old EVGA 7900GT 256mb card, and I've always had QE:CI since I started putting osx on this computer. Here's what I've done: EFI strings in Boot.plist = KP as soon as the screen turns blue NVInjector.kext = Actually works!! but...see [Edit] NVEnabler.kext = Same KP as GraphicsEnabler, it seems it doesn't even find my card (I don't think they were actually getting loaded, I'm going to test them both one more time, and I'll edit if there's any changes) GraphicsEnabler in Boot.plist = furthest I've gotten, it'll show the dock at the bottom of the screen before giving a lengthy KP and restarting automatically. I took a picture of this one, however all the KPs seem to give the same exact error, which I can't seem to decipher. Anyway, here's what I see: Although I can't make it out, maybe somebody else maybe be able to help me see the light at the end of the Snow Leopard on AMD tunnel. Thanks in advance! [EDIT] It would seem that NVInjector.kext actually will boot in to a normal resolution, detecting my video card. The problem I'm faced with now is QE:CI is not enabled at all and...my clock isn't showing up, among many other unusual graphic glitches and such. Safari freezes regularly and icons don't load properly (possibly caused by lack of QE:CI). Half the iTunes setup wizard has no text, and that's just what I've found so far. I've repaired permissions from Disk Utility and it has found nothing wrong...and iTunes just randomly crashed, from the logs looks like something to do with quicktime components. I just attempted to reinstall BaseSystem thinking maybe something got screwed up, but it just sat at initializing installation, about to install but no activity. This is the issue with the clock, taken with my camera again, because screenshotting doesn't seem to work: So close, yet so far still it seems Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200539-kernel-panic-on-desktop-updated/ Share on other sites
