debugbr
Hello guys. I came here to ask a little help with something really weird. Two days ago I installed iATKOS v7 (10.5.7), Firefox (last version) and other stuff. After fighting an insane war against my Dell Inspiron 1545 keyboard layout (it's a brazilian portuguese layout, supposed to be an ABNT2), I got everything working. So, yesterday, I said "well, let's do an update to 10.5.8". Software update was running, everything was ok. Ignoring kexts problems (I fixed everything without any real problem at all), the system is perfect. I finally got a working OSX... or not? Firefox. This is the application I use all the time, since I'm always browsing, reading emails, etc etc.. and.. what? My "/" key is not working! Yes, only ONE key! And I've found this problem after updating to 10.5.8! It's insane! Ok, let's go back to OSX problems: Keyboard Viewer and Ukele can't show the key while I'm pressing it. Actually, they don't show the key at all! But texteditor, word, adium, skype, etc etc, understand that key and put "/" or "?" to screen, depending on the shift state. Ah, Finder understands the key too: it works while I'm searching a file or app. Other apps usually works well with my keyboard layout, like Terminal and iTunes... but some programs doesn't. The big deal is: why only one key is being ignored and others don't? And why this happened only after update? Can be a kext problem (I'm not sure if laptop internal keyboard is usb or ps2..)? So, the key code is 52. I've made a custom keyboard layout for me (the original one was some key on wrong place), but the original one is not working too. Other keyboard layouts work, but they map "/?" to ";:".. and ";:" to "ç"... So, does anyone have ANY ideas? Anything that might be useful? I've attached my keyboard layout here, just for giving you an idea Thanks in advance! PS: I'm writing / and ? using cmd+c, cmd+v from texteditor PS: "downgrading" OSX to 10.5.7 is not an option, since I prefer 10.5.8 (some apps.... you know ;|) winbrabnt2_dell1545.keylayout.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200285-keyboard-layout-after-update/ Share on other sites
